Today was market day for the Jones family. We always go on Wednesdays because the produce is the freshest. Usually I wash our clothes and then meet Cree at the market over lunch. There are many things I am learning to do by myself, but bargain at the market is not one of them. Today we bought potatoes, garlic, carrots, cucumbers, onions, mangos and bananas. We usually go to the same woman, but this week she tried to charge us 10 extra pesos for each bundle. Maybe we need to check out some other vendors.

We've been experimenting with some of the native dishes and have mastered three of them. We were so proud of ourselves. They actually taste really good. I'll have to post some photos of the dishes we've learned the next time around.

  1. wow, that looks so fun! All those mangoes, yum. I would be terrified to haggle, good thing you have cree!

  2. How fun! I love outdoor markets. LOOOVEEE
